ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureA+
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Patriots to a C.

Boards are made to be trusted, and the Patriots shredded theirs for Devin Leary. He came off 93 spots early, and the room will hear about it.

They banked enough surplus on Monheim to cover a lot of smaller sins. The trade table is where this weekend went wrong.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.

Hit on Javon Bullard and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.

Pick Analysis
Pick19 Rnd1 Javon Bullard
In pick 19 they get a centerfielder for the defense. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick41 Rnd2 Keon Coleman
They took Keon Coleman at par in pick No. 41, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick69 Rnd3 Kalen King
Taking Kalen King in the Round 3 slot is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick103 Rnd4 Luke Lachey
A straight-up fair deal on Luke Lachey at the 103rd pick, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick119 Rnd4 Roman Wilson
Roman Wilson slid further than he should have, and slot 119 is lovely value for the wide receiver. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick140 Rnd5 Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson in the 140th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick146 Rnd5 Jalen McMillan
Circle this one: Jalen McMillan at Round 5, Pick 10 is a fall that decides a draft. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick181 Rnd6 Jonah Monheim
They barely believed it either: Jonah Monheim still on the board at pick 181. The roster fit checks out.
Pick217 Rnd6 Kenny Logan Jr.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Kenny Logan Jr. well ahead of where he belonged. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick224 Rnd7 Devin Leary
A real head-scratcher, Devin Leary in the 224th pick is miles ahead of his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
