The Rams spent the pick that matters most on J.J. McCarthy, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

They will need Keegan to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Clark. On the needs board they went 8 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.

The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
