EastKoast9er DRAFTING FOR THE49ers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall

FutureB-
The 49ers checked most of the boxes and earned a B-. There is reaching, and then there is Oluwafemi Oladejo at pick 148. The 49ers jumped the board by 90 and dared it to prove them wrong. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
However the rest shakes out, Etienne at that price is a win they earned. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
Tetairoa McMillan
In slot 11 they get a true top target at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick43
Rnd2
Malaki Starks
Malaki Starks slid further than he should have, and No. 43 is lovely value for the safety. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick75
Rnd3
Demetrius Knight Jr.
Demetrius Knight Jr. at the Round 3 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick99
Rnd3
Tory Horton
Tory Horton in pick 99 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick112
Rnd4
Charles Grant
A offensive lineman of that caliber at Round 4, Pick 11 is the definition of value, full stop. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick138
Rnd4
Darius Alexander
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Darius Alexander at the 138th overall pick is the proof. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick139
Rnd4
Jacob Parrish
Value with a capital V on Jacob Parrish in the 139th overall pick, a genuine coup. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick148
Rnd5
Oluwafemi Oladejo
Oluwafemi Oladejo at No. 148 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It fills a real need, too.
Pick189
Rnd6
CJ West
A real head-scratcher, CJ West in the 189th pick is miles ahead of his ranking. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick228
Rnd7
Jonas Sanker
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jonas Sanker at slot 228. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick232
Rnd7
Jackson Hawes
Jackson Hawes at Round 7, Pick 14 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick255
Rnd7
Trevor Etienne
Trevor Etienne in pick 255 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
