The tape said wait; the Bears did not. Leonard Taylor III went at the 75th overall pick, a good 38 picks before the board was ready. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.

That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
