Jam2113 DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
B
ValueA-
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Seahawks for Gordon II: B. Call it larceny. Ollie Gordon II sat on the board until pick No. 236, and the Seahawks did not need to be asked twice. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
The Barham pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Will Johnson
In pick No. 18 they get a potential shutdown corner, outstanding value to boot. More want than need.
Pick50
Rnd2
Tyler Warren
They will replay Tyler Warren at pick 50 for years; that is how good the value is. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick82
Rnd3
Donovan Jackson
They paid sticker price for Donovan Jackson in Round 3, Pick 18, and that is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick137
Rnd4
Will Howard
A top-tier quarterback at a bargain, Will Howard in No. 137, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick173
Rnd5
Jay Higgins
You do not let a linebacker like Jay Higgins reach the 173rd pick and blink. They did not. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick187
Rnd6
KeAndre Lambert-Smith
By-the-book stuff, KeAndre Lambert-Smith at the Round 6 slot squarely in line with his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick212
Rnd6
Jaishawn Barham
Jaishawn Barham at the 212th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick236
Rnd7
Ollie Gordon II
Ollie Gordon II in slot 236 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
