FutureB-
Larceny in pick 142 lands the Jaguars a B, Belton and all. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Jaguars were there to profit. Anthony Belton, the No. 110 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 142nd overall pick.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. They will need Turner to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick5
Rnd1
Will Johnson
In pick 5 they get an island corner at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick36
Rnd2
Tyler Booker
They took Tyler Booker at par in Round 2, Pick 4, which is nothing to complain about. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick70
Rnd3
Shemar Turner
A conviction pick on Shemar Turner at the 70th overall pick that the board grades a round light. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick88
Rnd3
Kevin Winston Jr.
The board had cheaper options than Kevin Winston Jr. at the Round 3 slot, and it noticed. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick107
Rnd4
Emery Jones Jr.
They liked Emery Jones Jr. enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 107. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick126
Rnd4
Tai Felton
The board fumbled Tai Felton all the way to slot 126, and they scooped it up. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick142
Rnd5
Anthony Belton
They will replay Anthony Belton at No. 142 for years; that is how good the value is. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick194
Rnd6
Jack Kiser
Jack Kiser at the 194th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It fills a real need, too.
Pick221
Rnd7
Jason Marshall Jr.
A cornerback of that caliber at Round 7, Pick 5 is the definition of value, full stop. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
