Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the 49ers, and a B to prove it.

The 49ers put a flag in the ground for Collin Oliver, 43 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

The Warren steal is the beam this whole class leans on. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.

The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick11 Rnd1 Mason Graham
In slot 11 they get a disruptive interior force at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick43 Rnd2 Tyler Warren
The board fumbled Tyler Warren all the way to pick 43, and they scooped it up. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick75 Rnd3 Darien Porter
Darien Porter in Round 3, Pick 11 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick100 Rnd3 Darius Alexander
Good price on Darius Alexander in No. 100, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick113 Rnd4 Anthony Belton
Anthony Belton in the 113th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick138 Rnd4 Hollin Pierce
No edge and no loss on Hollin Pierce in the Round 4 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick147 Rnd5 Pat Bryant
A straight-up fair deal on Pat Bryant at the 147th pick, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick160 Rnd5 Damien Martinez
Fair-plus on Damien Martinez, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick227 Rnd7 Isaac TeSlaa
Isaac TeSlaa at pick No. 227 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick249 Rnd7 Collin Oliver
Collin Oliver in slot 249 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick252 Rnd7 Garrett Dellinger
They talked themselves into Garrett Dellinger at the 252nd overall pick, and the board did not agree. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
