The war room fell hard for Jordan Toles, and it showed at the 251st overall pick: 39 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.

They will answer for taking safety early while edge rusher, quarterback and other spots went begging. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
