The Chiefs did not so much draft Max Klare as overpay for him, 27 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

Leaving offensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Rivers falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
