Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesC+ FutureA
A franchise passer in Daniels headlines a B weekend for the Patriots.

They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Patriots' quarterback, full stop. The bottom line is a respectable B.

Bullard at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher.

All has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick7 Rnd1 Jayden Daniels
In the 7th overall pick they get a long-term answer under center. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick38 Rnd2 Amarius Mims
A quiet steal in the 38th pick: Amarius Mims for less than the market said. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick41 Rnd2 Ladd McConkey
Good price on Ladd McConkey in Round 2, Pick 9, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick68 Rnd3 Javon Bullard
A safety of that caliber at pick No. 68 is the definition of value, full stop. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick88 Rnd3 Cade Stover
Cade Stover slid further than he should have, and the Round 3 slot is lovely value for the tight end. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick103 Rnd4 MarShawn Lloyd
Nothing to complain about; MarShawn Lloyd went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick137 Rnd5 Jarrian Jones
No drama and no debate, Jarrian Jones went about where he belonged in No. 137. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick151 Rnd5 Trevor Keegan
Trevor Keegan at slot 151 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick169 Rnd5 Marist Liufau
Marist Liufau at the 169th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the linebacker. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick180 Rnd6 Jordan Travis
The board had Jordan Travis higher than pick No. 180, and the quarterback fell to them anyway. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick193 Rnd6 Erick All
Erick All in the Round 6 slot is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick219 Rnd6 Jaylan Ford
Jaylan Ford is a better player than pick 219 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick231 Rnd7 Frank Gore Jr.
Frank Gore Jr. in No. 231 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
