You can draft well and still miss the point. The Packers did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to edge rusher, which was the need that mattered most.

They will need Foster to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Johnson falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with cornerback the one that mattered most.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
