The real work happened on the phones. The Cardinals fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with. A near-flawless weekend of work, and a A- to cap it.

The Smith pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with tight end and interior defensive lineman still on the board. The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Powers-Johnson pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.

Trust the process, because this time the process plainly worked.
