Draft Grade — Bills

FutureA
Daniels is the Bills' new face under center. Grade: D. This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Anthony Gould, the No. 142 name on the board, stolen at slot 248. A D that will need time and luck to look better.
They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. Jayden Daniels is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off.
The King pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at interior defensive lineman, running back and other spots. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
Pick Analysis
Pick6
Rnd1
Jayden Daniels
In Round 1, Pick 6 they get the face of the franchise at fair value.
Pick28
Rnd1
Cooper DeJean
In pick No. 28 they get a lockdown presence outside. More want than need.
Pick60
Rnd2
Javon Bullard
Javon Bullard in the Round 2 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The roster fit checks out.
Pick128
Rnd4
James Williams
James Williams at the 128th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick134
Rnd4
Kalen King
A surprising call. With interior defensive lineman, running back and other spots still to address, they spent Round 4, Pick 34 on Kalen King, a cornerback they were not short of.
Pick144
Rnd5
Jamari Thrash
Jamari Thrash at pick 144 is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick160
Rnd5
Beau Brade
They barely believed it either: Beau Brade still on the board at slot 160. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick163
Rnd5
Jalyx Hunt
The board had Jalyx Hunt higher than No. 163, and the edge rusher fell to them anyway. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick189
Rnd6
Trevor Keegan
You do not let an offensive lineman like Trevor Keegan reach the 189th pick and blink. They did not. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick200
Rnd6
Dwight McGlothern
Dwight McGlothern at pick No. 200 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick204
Rnd6
Marcus Harris
They will replay Marcus Harris at pick 204 for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick248
Rnd7
Anthony Gould
Anthony Gould at Round 7, Pick 28 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
