The Bengals won the night they stopped Helm from sliding. Grade: A-.

Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Bengals came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close.

That Helm pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped linebacker, which is a strange place to end up.

The Bengals paired the rookies with proven help, Trevon Diggs leading the way.

In short, they turned a good board into a better roster, and it shows.

They read the board right and Landon Jackson was the payoff at Round 2, Pick 26. A minor need, but a need all the same.
