Draft Grade — Bears
Overall A-
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureA+
The Bears answered their biggest question with Williams. Grade: A-.

The Bears spent the pick that matters most on Caleb Williams, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A- to show for it.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Rice reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

The Bears paired the rookies with proven help, Keion White leading the way.

A strong weekend's work, and a rare one to find this little fault with.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In pick No. 3 they get a franchise quarterback at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick27 Rnd1 Chop Robinson
In the Round 1 slot they get a quarterback's worst nightmare. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick34 Rnd2 Ladd McConkey
They paid sticker price for Ladd McConkey in No. 34, and that is fine. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick35 Rnd2 Darius Robinson
A straight-up fair deal on Darius Robinson at Round 2, Pick 3, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick66 Rnd3 Sedrick Van Pran
Sedrick Van Pran at slot 66 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick75 Rnd3 Brenden Rice
Brenden Rice in pick 75 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick103 Rnd4 Sataoa Laumea
They paid up for Sataoa Laumea at the 103rd pick when waiting would have done the job. The roster fit checks out.
Pick122 Rnd4 Ben Sinnott
They liked Ben Sinnott enough to skip the value, taking him in the 122nd overall pick. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
