The Browns let Thieneman fall into their laps, and walked away with a A-.

The trade table was a mismatch, and the Browns were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value. Add it all up and it grades out a clean A-.

The Thieneman pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.

They will need Caldwell to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The veteran additions, Trevor Penning chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

Bottom line, they did the job about as well as it can be done.
