Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall
B

FutureB
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Cowboys: B. The Cowboys clearly saw something nobody else did in Phillip Webb, taking him 134 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Thornton Jr.. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
Quantity was the play, for better or worse. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Tetairoa McMillan
In pick 14 they get a go-to option on the outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick44
Rnd2
Kenneth Grant
They barely believed it either: Kenneth Grant still on the board at No. 44. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick80
Rnd3
TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson at the Round 3 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick111
Rnd4
Gunnar Helm
Steal is underselling it; Gunnar Helm at Round 4, Pick 9 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It fills a real need, too.
Pick149
Rnd5
Malachi Moore
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Malachi Moore in the 149th pick. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick163
Rnd5
Chase Lundt
They took Chase Lundt at par in pick No. 163, which is nothing to complain about. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick171
Rnd5
Jaydon Blue
Jaydon Blue in the 171st overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick174
Rnd5
Brady Cook
Brady Cook in pick 174 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick204
Rnd6
Phillip Webb
Phillip Webb at slot 204 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick211
Rnd6
Shaun Dolac
Value said wait; Shaun Dolac in the 211th pick says they were not listening. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick239
Rnd7
Dont'e Thornton Jr.
They robbed the room for Dont'e Thornton Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick247
Rnd7
Jabbar Muhammad
The board had Jabbar Muhammad higher than No. 247, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
