Kinchens should have been long gone. The 49ers pounced, and earned a B-.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Kamren Kinchens, the No. 64 name on the board, stolen at Round 3, Pick 31. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

Reaching for Jordan left real value on the table behind him. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver. They will answer for taking cornerback early while wide receiver, interior defensive lineman and other spots went begging.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
