Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall
D-
ValueC+
NeedB+

FutureB-
The 49ers lost the trade table, and the D- tells the story. Somebody took the 49ers to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.
The Thomas pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.
Getting Wright where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
JC Latham
In Round 1, Pick 15 they get a plug-and-play piece up front. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick35
Rnd2
Xavier Worthy
Xavier Worthy in slot 35 is fair value, right on his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick46
Rnd2
Adisa Isaac
A reach on Adisa Isaac in No. 46; the board had better options right there. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick63
Rnd2
Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe in pick No. 63 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick90
Rnd3
Michael Hall Jr.
A straight-up fair deal on Michael Hall Jr. at pick 90, value and slot in agreement. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick94
Rnd3
Khyree Jackson
A conviction pick on Khyree Jackson at the Round 3 slot that the board grades a round light. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick98
Rnd3
Darius Robinson
They talked themselves into Darius Robinson at the 98th overall pick, and the board did not agree. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick118
Rnd4
James Williams
They paid a round early for James Williams in the 118th pick, more than the board wanted. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick132
Rnd4
Cedric Gray
They took Cedric Gray at par in the 132nd pick, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick176
Rnd6
Jaylen Wright
Jaylen Wright slid further than he should have, and the Round 6 slot is lovely value for the running back. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick209
Rnd6
Isaiah Neyor
Isaiah Neyor in slot 209 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick214
Rnd6
Kingsley Eguakun
A big swing on Kingsley Eguakun at pick No. 214, well ahead of any board in the building. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick249
Rnd7
Xavier Thomas
Xavier Thomas at Round 7, Pick 29 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
