There is reaching, and then there is Hunter Nourzad at No. 214. The 49ers jumped the board by 53 and dared it to prove them wrong. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

On value alone, Phillips makes the weekend a net positive. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
