The 49ers checked most of the boxes and earned a B+.

The 49ers put a flag in the ground for Tyler Loop, 87 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. Good, not great, and the B+ says as much.

Getting Lacy where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
