Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Elijah Jones got past him. The 49ers do not have to explain a thing at slot 214. The bottom line is a respectable B.

Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.

Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.
