Willyboys DRAFTING FOR THEFalcons
Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB-
TradesB-
FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Falcons: B-. Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Jalen McLeod at the 118th overall pick is 64 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
However the rest shakes out, Williams at that price is a win they earned. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through offensive lineman.
Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 2 of 8 of the wish list covered.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but offensive lineman.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Shemar Stewart
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Shemar Stewart. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick46
Rnd2
Josaiah Stewart
No drama and no debate, Josaiah Stewart went about where he belonged in pick No. 46. It fills a real need, too.
Pick118
Rnd4
Jalen McLeod
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jalen McLeod this early at the Round 4 slot. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick242
Rnd7
Kyle Williams
They barely believed it either: Kyle Williams still on the board at the 242nd pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
