Willyboys DRAFTING FOR THECommanders
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall
B-

FutureB-
The Commanders cashed the board's mistake on Sanker: B-. You build a draft on nights like this. Jonas Sanker had no business being available in the 248th pick, and the Commanders did the only sane thing and turned in the card. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. Every board in the league had Kennard lower, and that gap is the story.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick29
Rnd1
Nic Scourton
No edge and no loss on Nic Scourton in the 29th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It fills a real need, too.
Pick61
Rnd2
Kyle Kennard
The board had cheaper options than Kyle Kennard at pick 61, and it noticed. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick128
Rnd4
Anthony Belton
The board had Anthony Belton higher than the 128th overall pick, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick205
Rnd6
Luke Lachey
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Luke Lachey at slot 205 is the proof. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick248
Rnd7
Jonas Sanker
The board fumbled Jonas Sanker all the way to No. 248, and they scooped it up. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
