Willyboys DRAFTING FOR THELions
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Lions
Overall

FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Lions. There is conviction, and then there is this. The Lions took Kyle Ford a full 284 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.
On value alone, Hairston makes the weekend a net positive. Leaving linebacker unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but linebacker.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Mykel Williams
In slot 28 they get juice off the edge, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick60
Rnd2
Mike Green
Mike Green in the Round 2 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick102
Rnd3
Kyle Ford
Kyle Ford at Round 3, Pick 38 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The roster fit checks out.
Pick134
Rnd4
Jared Wilson
They barely believed it either: Jared Wilson still on the board at pick No. 134. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick196
Rnd6
Joe Huber
They talked themselves into Joe Huber at pick 196, and the board did not agree. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick225
Rnd7
Maxwell Hairston
Steal is underselling it; Maxwell Hairston at No. 225 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick228
Rnd7
Khris Bogle
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Khris Bogle well ahead of where he belonged. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick244
Rnd7
Marques Sigle
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Marques Sigle. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
