Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall
B-
ValueC
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Ravens. There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Ravens started one anyway for Fadil Diggs, 94 picks ahead of schedule. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Nelson falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with cornerback the one that mattered most.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Armand Membou
In Round 1, Pick 27 they get protection for the quarterback at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick59
Rnd2
Kyle Kennard
They jumped the gun on Kyle Kennard, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick91
Rnd3
Devin Neal
Devin Neal slid further than he should have, and pick 91 is lovely value for the running back. It fills a real need, too.
Pick129
Rnd4
Addison West
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Addison West well ahead of where he belonged. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick136
Rnd4
Fadil Diggs
A real head-scratcher, Fadil Diggs in the Round 4 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick176
Rnd5
Zeek Biggers
Zeek Biggers at No. 176 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick183
Rnd6
Jack Nelson
They let Jack Nelson come to them and pounced at pick 183. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick203
Rnd6
Mac McWilliams
They reached into another round for Mac McWilliams, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick210
Rnd6
Isaac TeSlaa
Isaac TeSlaa in the 210th overall pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick212
Rnd6
Dayon Hayes
Dayon Hayes at pick No. 212 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick243
Rnd7
Jahvaree Ritzie
They went early on Jahvaree Ritzie in slot 243, and the value did not follow. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
