A weekend that raised as many questions as it answered. The Lions get a C.

There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Lions started one anyway for Davin Vann, 124 picks ahead of schedule.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped offensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. On value alone, Harris makes the weekend a net positive. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

The verdict is a shrug for now, with the swing picks left to write the real ending.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Bradyn Swinson
In the 28th pick they get a disruptor off the edge, a steep price for the projection. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick60 Rnd2 Jordan Burch
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jordan Burch this early at pick 60. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick102 Rnd3 David Walker
David Walker at No. 102 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick134 Rnd4 Davin Vann
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Davin Vann. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick196 Rnd6 Ty Hamilton
A real head-scratcher, Ty Hamilton in the Round 6 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick225 Rnd7 Collin Oliver
A wild overpay on Collin Oliver in pick No. 225, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick228 Rnd7 Jermari Harris
They let Jermari Harris come to them and pounced at No. 228. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick244 Rnd7 Stone Handy
A big swing on Stone Handy at the 244th overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
