Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Dolphins left with their quarterback, and a B- to match.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Dolphins spent their marquee pick on Jaxson Dart, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.

Landing Skattebo that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Every board in the league had Dart lower, and that gap is the story.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick13 Rnd1 Jaxson Dart
In Round 1, Pick 13 they get a long-term answer under center, though the board says they badly overpaid. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick48 Rnd2 Aireontae Ersery
No edge and no loss on Aireontae Ersery in the Round 2 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick98 Rnd3 Luke Kandra
Luke Kandra in slot 98 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It fills a real need, too.
Pick116 Rnd4 Savion Williams
You do not let a wide receiver like Savion Williams reach pick No. 116 and blink. They did not. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick135 Rnd4 Cam Skattebo
They barely believed it either: Cam Skattebo still on the board at pick 135. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick150 Rnd5 Jeffrey Bassa
They will replay Jeffrey Bassa at the 150th pick for years; that is how good the value is. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick155 Rnd5 Ryan Fitzgerald
Ryan Fitzgerald at No. 155 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick224 Rnd7 Kitan Crawford
They paid a round early for Kitan Crawford in the 224th overall pick, more than the board wanted. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick231 Rnd7 Jeremy Crawshaw
A market-rate specialist, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jeremy Crawshaw. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick253 Rnd7 Brandon Adams
A clean, defensible pick in the 253rd pick with a little surplus value in Brandon Adams. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick256 Rnd7 Jackson Hawes
They did well to land Jackson Hawes in slot 256, just ahead of his grade. The roster fit checks out.
