Willyboys DRAFTING FOR THETitans
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Titans
Overall

A respectable, level-headed haul for the Titans: B-. There is reaching, and then there is Collin Oliver at the Round 6 slot. The Titans jumped the board by 145 and dared it to prove them wrong.
The Winston Jr. pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. Leaving offensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They will answer for taking specialist early while offensive lineman, interior defensive lineman and other spots went begging.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
James Pearce Jr.
No edge and no loss on James Pearce Jr. in slot 1; it is a wash and a sensible one. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick35
Rnd2
Ashton Gillotte
Ashton Gillotte at Round 2, Pick 3 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick103
Rnd4
James Burnip
A surprising call. With offensive lineman, interior defensive lineman and other spots still to address, they spent pick No. 103 on James Burnip, a specialist they were not short of.
Pick120
Rnd4
Barrett Carter
A linebacker of that caliber at the 120th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. The roster fit checks out.
Pick141
Rnd5
Cam Skattebo
They robbed the room for Cam Skattebo here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick167
Rnd5
Tai Felton
They will replay Tai Felton at No. 167 for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick178
Rnd6
Collin Oliver
Value said wait; Collin Oliver in pick No. 178 says they were not listening. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick188
Rnd6
Kevin Winston Jr.
Kevin Winston Jr. at pick 188 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
