Willyboys DRAFTING FOR THEBuccaneers

Draft Grade — Buccaneers

FutureB-
The Buccaneers answered their biggest question with Dart. Grade: C+. The war room fell hard for Sai'vion Jones, and it showed at the 53rd overall pick: 84 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. The final tally is a middling C+.
The whole projection now runs through Jaxson Dart; hit there and everything else looks smarter. Getting Horton where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. A whole weekend of picks and offensive lineman is somehow still a want.
They left with interior defensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Bottom line, the swing picks will decide whether this ages well.
Pick Analysis
Pick19
Rnd1
Jaxson Dart
In slot 19 they get the face of the franchise, a steep price for the projection.
Pick53
Rnd2
Sai'vion Jones
A real head-scratcher, Sai'vion Jones in No. 53 is miles ahead of his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick84
Rnd3
Maxwell Hairston
A tidy bit of business in the 84th pick, where Maxwell Hairston graded well above the range. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick121
Rnd4
Gunnar Helm
A top-tier tight end at a bargain, Gunnar Helm in pick No. 121, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick157
Rnd5
Tory Horton
Tory Horton in the 157th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick235
Rnd7
Thor Griffith
Thor Griffith at pick 235 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
