Willyboys DRAFTING FOR THECardinals
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedA-
TradesB-
FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B for the Cardinals. It is the swing that defines the weekend: Jonah Monheim in pick 115, a good 47 spots before the room expected him. No fireworks, but a solid B.
The Amos steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They went 3 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick16
Rnd1
Matthew Golden
In pick 16 they get a weapon on the perimeter at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick47
Rnd2
Jaxson Dart
Jaxson Dart in the 47th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick78
Rnd3
Trey Amos
They barely believed it either: Trey Amos still on the board at pick No. 78. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick115
Rnd4
Jonah Monheim
Jonah Monheim at No. 115 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick152
Rnd5
Logan Brown
They read the board right and Logan Brown was the payoff at the 152nd overall pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
