Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B+
ValueB+ NeedB TradesB+ FutureA
A respectable, level-headed haul for the 49ers: B+.

Nobody had Cooper Mays this high, and it is not close. The 49ers reached 57 spots to get him at slot 252. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.

Sanders falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.

Adding Dalton Risner by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick24 Rnd1 Will Johnson
In No. 24 they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
Pick43 Rnd2 Derrick Harmon
Derrick Harmon at pick No. 43 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick75 Rnd3 Xavier Watts
Xavier Watts in the Round 3 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick97 Rnd3 Jalen Royals
They robbed the room for Jalen Royals here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick100 Rnd3 Danny Stutsman
The board had Danny Stutsman higher than the 100th overall pick, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick113 Rnd4 Anthony Belton
Anthony Belton in the 113th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick138 Rnd4 Jake Majors
A tidy little value on Jake Majors in pick No. 138, a step better than break-even. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick147 Rnd5 Logan Brown
They took Logan Brown at par in the 147th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick160 Rnd5 Trevor Etienne
A slide stopped in Round 5, Pick 22, with Trevor Etienne worth more than the price. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick227 Rnd7 Raheim Sanders
Raheim Sanders in the 227th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick249 Rnd7 Hayden Conner
Hayden Conner at the Round 7 slot is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick252 Rnd7 Cooper Mays
Cooper Mays in slot 252 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
