FutureB-
Barron should have been long gone. The Vikings pounced, and earned a B. You build a draft on nights like this. Jahdae Barron had no business being available in No. 97, and the Vikings did the only sane thing and turned in the card. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. Zabel has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.
On the needs board they went 2 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Grey Zabel
In No. 24 they get a plug-and-play piece up front, though they paid up to get him. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick66
Rnd3
Ashton Jeanty
They barely believed it either: Ashton Jeanty still on the board at pick No. 66. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick97
Rnd3
Jahdae Barron
You do not let a cornerback like Jahdae Barron reach the 97th pick and blink. They did not. It adds depth where they could use a little.
