Draft Grade — Texans
Overall B
ValueC+ NeedB+ TradesB+ FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Texans for Rosemy-Jacksaint: B.

The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, the Round 7 slot, roughly 40 picks past where he belonged.

Every board in the league had Raym lower, and that gap is the story. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Adonai Mitchell
In slot 25 they get a difference-maker at receiver, though they paid up to get him. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick40 Rnd2 Chris Braswell
Chris Braswell in pick 40 is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick86 Rnd3 Will Shipley
A real head-scratcher, Will Shipley in the 86th overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick122 Rnd4 Justin Eboigbe
They reached into another round for Justin Eboigbe, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick126 Rnd4 Javon Foster
A reasonable price with a little left over, Javon Foster in Round 4, Pick 26. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick168 Rnd5 Johnny Dixon
They liked Johnny Dixon enough to skip the value, taking him in the Round 5 slot. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick201 Rnd6 Andrew Raym
They talked themselves into Andrew Raym at the 201st pick, and the board did not agree. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick224 Rnd7 Jaylan Ford
Somehow Jaylan Ford was still sitting there in pick No. 224, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick238 Rnd7 Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint
They robbed the room for Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
