Draft Grade — 49ers

FutureB-
The 49ers won the night they stopped Clark from sliding. Grade: B-. Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The 49ers never addressed running back, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
They banked enough surplus on Clark to cover a lot of smaller sins. Crumedy has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
On the needs board they went 3 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most. The phones were busy but the ledger stayed level.
Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Kamari Lassiter
In pick No. 31 they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. More want than need.
Pick52
Rnd2
Patrick Paul
Patrick Paul in the 52nd overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick94
Rnd3
Christian Mahogany
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Christian Mahogany in No. 94. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick98
Rnd3
Tykee Smith
A straight-up fair deal on Tykee Smith at the Round 3 slot, value and slot in agreement. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick209
Rnd6
Jordan Magee
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jordan Magee at slot 209 is the proof. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick213
Rnd6
De'Corian Clark
They robbed the room for De'Corian Clark here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick215
Rnd6
Jaden Crumedy
Jaden Crumedy at pick 215 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The roster reasoning here is anyone's guess.
Pick252
Rnd7
Dwight McGlothern
Dwight McGlothern in the 252nd overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
