Whoever sat across the table from the Bears should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend.

Reaching for Jackson left real value on the table behind him. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. The veteran additions, James Conner chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Bottom line, with Rome Odunze leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
