Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall B+
ValueB+ NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureB-
The Eagles cashed the board's mistake on Miller: B+.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Eagles were there to profit. Omarion Miller, the No. 76 name on the board, should have been long gone before pick 114.

The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

The Jaycee Horn pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick19 Rnd1 Colin Simmons
In the 19th overall pick they get juice off the edge, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick47 Rnd2 Clev Lubin
Clev Lubin is a better player than pick No. 47 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick97 Rnd3 Bear Alexander
Bear Alexander at pick 97 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick114 Rnd4 Omarion Miller
Omarion Miller in the Round 4 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick150 Rnd5 Jayden Jackson
Jayden Jackson in the 150th pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick166 Rnd5 Eli Bowen
Fair-plus on Eli Bowen, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick167 Rnd5 Desmeal Leigh
A clean, defensible pick in Round 5, Pick 29 with a little surplus value in Desmeal Leigh. The roster fit checks out.
Pick191 Rnd6 King Mack
King Mack in slot 191 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick218 Rnd6 Dylan Lonergan
They read the board right and Dylan Lonergan was the payoff at Round 6, Pick 39. It fills a real need, too.
Pick236 Rnd7 C.J. Fite
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on C.J. Fite. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick237 Rnd7 Emmanuel Karnley
Nothing to complain about; Emmanuel Karnley went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
