Draft Grade — Titans
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Titans let James fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Jordan James tumbling to the Titans in pick 146 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

They will need Ersery to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.

They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Tetairoa McMillan
In pick 6 they get a weapon on the perimeter. A real need, handled.
Pick37 Rnd2 Aireontae Ersery
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Aireontae Ersery. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick104 Rnd4 Mykel Williams
Mykel Williams in slot 104 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick121 Rnd4 Andrew Mukuba
Andrew Mukuba at the Round 4 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick146 Rnd5 Jordan James
Somehow Jordan James was still sitting there in Round 5, Pick 8, and they pounced on premier running back value. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick167 Rnd5 Chris Paul Jr.
Chris Paul Jr. at pick No. 167 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick183 Rnd6 Michael Taaffe
They will replay Michael Taaffe at No. 183 for years; that is how good the value is. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick242 Rnd7 Terrance Ferguson
A top-tier tight end at a bargain, Terrance Ferguson in the 242nd pick, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
