FutureB
Quarterback settled, Daniels in the fold, and a B for the Falcons. They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Falcons' quarterback, full stop.
The Stutsman value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick8
Rnd1
Jayden Daniels
In Round 1, Pick 8 they get a franchise quarterback. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick53
Rnd2
Brandon Dorlus
They took Brandon Dorlus at par in the 53rd overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick67
Rnd3
Brian Thomas Jr.
Brian Thomas Jr. in pick 67 is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick108
Rnd4
Matt Goncalves
Matt Goncalves at the 108th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick121
Rnd4
Danny Stutsman
A linebacker of that caliber at pick No. 121 is the definition of value, full stop. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick124
Rnd4
Javion Cohen
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Javion Cohen at the Round 4 slot. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick145
Rnd5
T.J. Sanders
A straight-up fair deal on T.J. Sanders at No. 145, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick186
Rnd6
Steve Linton
Steve Linton in slot 186 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick202
Rnd6
Dominic Lovett
No edge and no loss on Dominic Lovett in the 202nd overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick229
Rnd7
Zy Alexander
Zy Alexander slid further than he should have, and No. 229 is lovely value for the cornerback. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick245
Rnd7
Carson Steele
They will replay Carson Steele at slot 245 for years; that is how good the value is. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
