Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Raiders found their guy under center in Mendoza: B-.

Start where it matters. The Raiders took Fernando Mendoza to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.

A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. They will need Bisontis to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Fernando Mendoza
In pick 1 they get the face of the franchise at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick36 Rnd2 Brandon Cisse
Brandon Cisse in the 36th pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick67 Rnd3 John Mateer
John Mateer at No. 67 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick102 Rnd4 Chase Bisontis
Chase Bisontis in pick No. 102 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick117 Rnd4 Blake Miller
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Blake Miller. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick135 Rnd4 Kyle Louis
They jumped the gun on Kyle Louis, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick176 Rnd5 Xavier Nwankpa
Xavier Nwankpa in the 176th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick181 Rnd6 Oscar Delp
A tidy little value on Oscar Delp in slot 181, a step better than break-even. The roster fit checks out.
Pick184 Rnd6 Josh Moten
By-the-book stuff, Josh Moten at the 184th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick219 Rnd7 Dijon Johnson
They liked Dijon Johnson enough to skip the value, taking him in the Round 7 slot. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
