Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall
B
ValueB-
NeedA-
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Cardinals left with their quarterback, and a B to match. The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Cardinals spent their marquee pick on LaNorris Sellers, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.
Keenan III has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The Green pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
LaNorris Sellers
In Round 1, Pick 12 they get a long-term answer under center. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick43
Rnd2
CJ Allen
CJ Allen at No. 43 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick74
Rnd3
Caleb Tiernan
A premium they did not need to pay, Caleb Tiernan a notch or two before his time. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick109
Rnd4
Tim Keenan III
This one needs a full-page explanation: Tim Keenan III in the Round 4 slot, miles early. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick151
Rnd5
Jaden Greathouse
Jaden Greathouse in the 151st overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick194
Rnd6
Taylen Green
Steal is underselling it; Taylen Green at the 194th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick228
Rnd7
Pat Coogan
They paid up for Pat Coogan at pick No. 228 when waiting would have done the job. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
