Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the 49ers for Klubnik: B-.

You build a draft on nights like this. Cade Klubnik had no business being available in the 94th overall pick, and the 49ers did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

If Barber pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Austin Barber
In the 30th overall pick they get a long-term starter on the line, a steep price for the projection. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick61 Rnd2 Jake Slaughter
Steal is underselling it; Jake Slaughter at the Round 2 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick94 Rnd3 Cade Klubnik
Cade Klubnik in pick 94 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick129 Rnd4 Ar'maj Reed-Adams
Ar'maj Reed-Adams in pick No. 129 is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick137 Rnd4 J.C. Davis
Fair-plus on J.C. Davis, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick138 Rnd4 Davison Igbinosun
Value said wait; Davison Igbinosun in Round 4, Pick 38 says they were not listening. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick173 Rnd5 Evan Stewart
Evan Stewart at No. 173 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick179 Rnd5 Le'Veon Moss
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Le'Veon Moss. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick205 Rnd6 Rasheem Biles
A slide stopped in slot 205, with Rasheem Biles worth more than the price. A need, and now a little less of one.
