The steal of the weekend belongs to the Saints and Watts: B-.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Saints were there to profit. Xavier Watts, the No. 41 name on the board, should have been long gone before pick No. 71. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

They will need Smith to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
