A solid, sensible weekend for the Steelers: B.

The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Kamari Ramsey, pick 99, roughly 21 picks past where he belonged.

The Davis pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with edge rusher and running back still on the board. They are betting Heidenreich proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

In the Round 1 slot they get a long-term starter on the line. Need was not the driver here.

Lee Hunter slid further than he should have, and pick No. 57 is lovely value for the interior defensive lineman. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.

They read the board right and Germie Bernard was the payoff at pick No. 73. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick85 Rnd3 Ted Hurst
A straight-up fair deal on Ted Hurst at the Round 3 slot, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick99 Rnd3 Kamari Ramsey
A safety of that caliber at slot 99 is the definition of value, full stop. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.

Nice patience on Tacario Davis, who had no business lasting to the 121st pick. The roster fit checks out.

They went early on Harold Perkins Jr. in Round 4, Pick 23, and the value did not follow. It fills a real need, too.

A big swing on Eli Heidenreich at slot 230, well ahead of any board in the building. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
