Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B
ValueC NeedB+ TradesB FutureB+
Larceny in the 235th pick lands the Seahawks a B, Devonshire and all.

Thirty-one other rooms let M.J. Devonshire slide, and the Seahawks were the ones holding the card at pick 235. Highway robbery. The bottom line is a respectable B.

They will need Pratt to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Christian Haynes
In Round 1, Pick 30 they get a blindside protector, a steep price for the projection. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick81 Rnd3 Austin Booker
Austin Booker at pick No. 81 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick102 Rnd4 Michael Pratt
They reached a country mile for Michael Pratt at No. 102, and the board is aghast. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick111 Rnd4 Braelon Allen
Braelon Allen in the Round 4 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick142 Rnd5 Hunter Nourzad
They jumped the gun on Hunter Nourzad, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick166 Rnd5 Tyrone Tracy Jr.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Tyrone Tracy Jr. at slot 166. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick179 Rnd6 Sione Vaki
Somehow Sione Vaki was still sitting there in the 179th overall pick, and they pounced on premier safety value. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick192 Rnd6 Jaylan Ford
Jaylan Ford at pick 192 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick235 Rnd7 M.J. Devonshire
M.J. Devonshire in No. 235 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick252 Rnd7 Tylan Grable
Circle this one: Tylan Grable at pick 252 is a fall that decides a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick257 Rnd7 Evan Anderson
Evan Anderson at Round 7, Pick 39 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
