Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Eagles. You can hear the double-takes from here. The Eagles took Vincent Anthony Jr. at the 153rd overall pick, roughly 38 spots before his name belonged. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. On value alone, Igbinosun makes the weekend a net positive. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
R Mason Thomas
In slot 23 they get juice off the edge, though they paid up to get him. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick54
Rnd2
Dani Dennis-Sutton
Dani Dennis-Sutton at No. 54 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick68
Rnd3
Germie Bernard
Germie Bernard at the 68th pick is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick98
Rnd3
Logan Jones
A slide stopped in pick No. 98, with Logan Jones worth more than the price. It fills a real need, too.
Pick122
Rnd4
Justin Joly
Justin Joly at Round 4, Pick 22 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The roster fit checks out.
Pick137
Rnd4
Davison Igbinosun
The board had Davison Igbinosun higher than the Round 4 slot, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick153
Rnd5
Vincent Anthony Jr.
A big swing on Vincent Anthony Jr. at No. 153, well ahead of any board in the building. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick178
Rnd5
Keagen Trost
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Keagen Trost. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick215
Rnd6
Jeremiah Wright
A tidy little value on Jeremiah Wright in the 215th pick, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
