FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Buccaneers a B-. It is the swing that defines the weekend: Trey Moore in the Round 5 slot, a good 57 spots before the room expected him.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. However the rest shakes out, Allen at that price is a win they earned.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Cashius Howell
In Round 1, Pick 15 they get a double-digit-sack hope, even if it was a touch early. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick46
Rnd2
CJ Allen
CJ Allen at pick 46 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick77
Rnd3
Sam Roush
They liked Sam Roush enough to skip the value, taking him in the 77th overall pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick116
Rnd4
Mikail Kamara
Value said wait; Mikail Kamara in pick No. 116 says they were not listening. The roster fit checks out.
Pick155
Rnd5
Trey Moore
A real head-scratcher, Trey Moore in slot 155 is miles ahead of his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick195
Rnd6
Le'Veon Moss
No drama and no debate, Le'Veon Moss went about where he belonged in the 195th pick. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick229
Rnd7
Zavion Thomas
A reasonable price with a little left over, Zavion Thomas in the 229th overall pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
