GARRYR999 DRAFTING FOR THEPackers

FutureB
Nothing loud, just a tidy B for the Packers. There is conviction, and then there is this. The Packers took Cedric Gray a full 45 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
Boyd falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The Gray pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at quarterback, wide receiver and other spots. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick41
Rnd2
Edgerrin Cooper
A premium they did not need to pay, Edgerrin Cooper a notch or two before his time. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick44
Rnd2
Graham Barton
No edge and no loss on Graham Barton in the 44th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick57
Rnd2
Caelen Carson
They reached a country mile for Caelen Carson at Round 2, Pick 25, and the board is aghast. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick77
Rnd3
Mason McCormick
Mason McCormick at pick No. 77 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick88
Rnd3
Darius Robinson
They talked themselves into Darius Robinson at the Round 3 slot, and the board did not agree. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick91
Rnd3
Cedric Gray
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending slot 91 on Cedric Gray with quarterback, wide receiver and other spots unsolved.
Pick113
Rnd4
Sione Vaki
A big swing on Sione Vaki at the Round 4 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick126
Rnd4
LaDarius Henderson
A swing that ignored the value entirely, LaDarius Henderson well ahead of where he belonged. The roster fit checks out.
Pick168
Rnd5
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson
A tidy little value on Dadrion Taylor-Demerson in Round 5, Pick 32, a step better than break-even. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick190
Rnd6
Khristian Boyd
The board fumbled Khristian Boyd all the way to slot 190, and they scooped it up. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick203
Rnd6
Rasheen Ali
Rasheen Ali in pick 203 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick216
Rnd6
Daijahn Anthony
Taking Daijahn Anthony in the 216th overall pick is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick243
Rnd7
Blake Watson
A straight-up fair deal on Blake Watson at No. 243, value and slot in agreement. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick251
Rnd7
Myles Harden
A quiet steal in the 251st pick: Myles Harden for less than the market said. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
