Draft Grade — Packers

FutureA+
A solid, sensible weekend for the Packers: B+. Every other box got a look, but quarterback did not. The Packers will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with.
They will need Jones to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly. The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.
They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick51
Rnd2
Patrick Paul
Nothing to complain about; Patrick Paul went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick57
Rnd2
Chris Braswell
Chris Braswell at the Round 2 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick88
Rnd3
Mike Sainristil
Mike Sainristil at Round 3, Pick 25 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick91
Rnd3
Bucky Irving
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Bucky Irving. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick126
Rnd4
Kris Abrams-Draine
A tidy little value on Kris Abrams-Draine in pick No. 126, a step better than break-even. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick154
Rnd5
Renardo Green
They took Renardo Green at par in the 154th pick, which is nothing to complain about. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick168
Rnd5
Kitan Oladapo
A straight-up fair deal on Kitan Oladapo at No. 168, value and slot in agreement. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick174
Rnd5
Grayson Murphy
No drama and no debate, Grayson Murphy went about where he belonged in pick 174. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick203
Rnd6
Christian Jones
Christian Jones at No. 203 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick216
Rnd6
Miyan Williams
A reasonable price with a little left over, Miyan Williams in the 216th overall pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick230
Rnd7
Matthew Jones
A real head-scratcher, Matthew Jones in slot 230 is miles ahead of his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick243
Rnd7
Nathaniel Watson
Nathaniel Watson in the Round 7 slot is fair value, right on his grade. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick251
Rnd7
Carson Steele
They reached into another round for Carson Steele, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
