RyanP DRAFTING FOR THEGiants
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Giants
Overall

The Giants finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a B. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Giants were there to profit. Tre Harris, the No. 10 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 154th overall pick.
Reaching for Mauigoa left real value on the table behind him. Whatever Cam Ward becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. On the needs board they went 6 of 9, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick9
Rnd1
Cam Ward
In pick 9 they get the face of the franchise. A real need, handled.
Pick40
Rnd2
Travis Hunter
Travis Hunter in the 40th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick71
Rnd3
Ashton Jeanty
They barely believed it either: Ashton Jeanty still on the board at pick No. 71. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick107
Rnd4
Wyatt Milum
A offensive lineman of that caliber at slot 107 is the definition of value, full stop. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick134
Rnd4
Jermari Harris
Jermari Harris in the 134th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It fills a real need, too.
Pick154
Rnd5
Tre Harris
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Tre Harris in pick 154, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick219
Rnd7
Francisco Mauigoa
Francisco Mauigoa at the 219th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick242
Rnd7
Antwaun Powell-Ryland
The board fumbled Antwaun Powell-Ryland all the way to the Round 7 slot, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
